My mother-in-law is so on top of things when it comes to food during the holidays. My favorite snack that she always makes is a cheese ball. A few years ago she gave me the Lion House Christmas Cookbook that has a terrific cheese ball recipe in it. I could eat this whole ball with Wheat Thins....for real. Happy holidays everyone!
LION HOUSE FESTIVE CHEESE BALL
- 2 – 8 oz. packages cream cheese, softened (I use 1 pkg. light cream cheese & 1 pkg. regular)
- 2 c. grated sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 T. finely chopped green onion
- 2 t. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 t. lemon juice
- ½ t. lemon pepper
- 1 c. finely chopped nuts (use your favorite, I use almond gems)
- ½ c. chopped parsley (I use dried parsley)
Combine all ingredients, except nuts & parsley, in a medium bowl and mix until well blended. Divide the mixture in half and spoon into 2 small bowls lined with waxed paper. Refrigerate for several hours. Lift out waxed paper from each bowl, and mold cheese into a ball, using waxed paper to protect hands. Roll each balled in chopped nuts and parsley. Refrigerate. Remove about 15 minutes before serving; serve with a variety of crackers. Makes 2 small cheese balls.

You should be posting baby food recipes- DUH, you're a Mom now....did you forget?!!!!?
Last I checked I had not given birth, therefore I'm not a mom yet.
I have the Lion House Dessert cookbook, and it's one of my favorite cookbooks. Now I want this one!
You have a child growing in you and because of your horrendous attitude we, speaking in behalf of anyone that knows you, are asking that this be your only child so that we, those that know you, will not have to suffer through your horrific attitudes. You are still allowed to cook us meals, but there will be no more pregnancies for you. Just keep praying for the stork to come!
Lisa- So does this mean I don't have to pretend like I know nothing about your pregnancy. It kinda looks like its out in the open :)
*sending twin dust and magic rainbows your way*
sister C- I can't wait until your pregnant. That will be fun to witness. Seriously :)
Lisa,
What? A baby? I am so excited for you if this rumor is in fact true!! Although my reason for leaving a comment is to tell you that I tried your recipe for ribs with onion soup mix and Baby Rays (the best ever BBQ sauce on the planet)in the crockpot. They were sooooooooooo good. I am never making my homemade BBQ sauce again. Baby Rays rules.
Love,
Anjie
I'm sorry you've been so sick with this pregnancy. I also hope you have many many children, and you can cook at MY house anytime!! You're a great cook, and you will be a fantastic mom!
A thought comes to mind concerning other comments: Don't judge someone until you're willing to walk a mile in their shoes.
Happy cooking everyone!
