Mashed Potatoes

This has become my favorite recipe for mashed potatoes to serve with turkey and gravy. It has a wonderful, rich flavor and it's not overwhelming like garlic or cheesy mashed potatoes. Plus, you can make these ahead of time and then reheat before serving.

MASHED POTATOES
  • 5 pounds potatoes, cooked and mashed
  • 1 8-ounce package cream cheese
  • 8 ounces sour cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • Kosher salt and ground black pepper to taste
Combine mashed potatoes, cream cheese, sour cream, milk, onion salt, and pepper to taste. Mix well and place in a large casserole.

Cover and bake at 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) for 50 minutes.

Seriously, the cream cheese and sour cream make all the difference. My recipe for mashed potatoes is very similar to this. The cream cheese makes them so creamy, and the sour cream makes them tangy. YUM, delicious. Happy Thanksgiving!
