Corned Beef

So I made corned beef for my first time on St. Patricks Day. I was really hesitant about making it because I always thought it looked disgusting and I was told that it's very salty. I searched out a great recipe on AllRecipes.com and ended up making up my own recipe using various people's advice in the comment section. It turned out to be delicious! Joe and I were both very surprised. The next day I made sandwiches with the meat and made my sister try it, she even really liked it. So I think we will be making this every year now!

CORNED BEEF
  • 3 pounds corned beef brisket with spice packet
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons prepared mustard
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 3 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
Combine all the ingredients (including spice packet), except the brisket, and whisk until smooth. Place the brisket in a slowcooker and then pour the sauce over top. Cook on low for 8 hours.

YUM! I love corned beef. This sounds like a really good recipe! I think I'll keep this in mind for next St. Patrick's Day! (I know I could make it before then, but for some reason I only eat corned beef on St. Patrick's Day usually. I wonder why that is?)
